Grade One

First grade at Saylesville Elementary is a year of academic excitement for our young learners, where they begin laying the foundation for a lifetime of intellectual and emotional growth, filled with investigations of life and nature. Each student, with the help of teachers, parents, staff, volunteers, and indeed their most valued peers and classmates, learn to become successful and independent thinkers. They come to identify their own abilities and become more confident and aware of the increasing role they play as members of, and contributors to, a healthy community.
